Laura is a modern, soft-eyed, brown/black German Imported Main Stud Book Hanoverian mare.  Laura is 16.1 H.H., sired by Longchamp out of a Maurice /Wenzel I /Absatz mother. She has been performance tested, receiving 8’s on character, temperament, trot, walk and rideability, for an overall score of 7.29. Laura was selected for the European Foal Championships as a youngster and is a very graceful and elegant mare. At the 2003 VhW foal inspections Laura was cited by the jury as “the modern Hanoverian type… with ground covering gaits, good activity behind, and very good frame and carriage.”

We are pleased to say that Laura is the heart and soul of our farm. She has produced many top foals for us over the years with a variety of stallions. Her 2006 colt Bergren, sired by Bergamon received the award for Champion Colt at his site Inspection. In 2008 Laura’s De Niro Filly Denchampira “AKA” Diva was awarded Champion Filly at her site Inspection and in 2009, another Laura / De Niro breeding resulted in our Detyana, receiving the award for Top Filly and Top Foal Overall. This foal we kept, and are pleased to say that when we presented her this past September at the Hanoverian Inspection as a four year old, she had a good show in all three parts of Her Mare Performance Test so that she finished with an overall score of 7.75 taking first place with the top score and was awarded the title of Premium Mare Candidate! (formerly known as Elite Mare Candidate). She also won the Hanoverian Mare Show.

All of Laura’s foals have been called back in the top five at all the site inspections we have attended so far. She is truly a wonderful producer passing on elegance, movement, lovely correct conformation and fantasitc minds. She is also a fantastic mother.

The refinement in Laura’s pedigree comes both from Longchamp’s sire, Lauries Crusader, and from the Matcho AA son, Maurice, who is Laura’s damsire.

Longchamp was one of six Lauries Crusader sons licensed at the 1994 Verden approvals. In his 1995 performance test Longchamp received the enviable dressage score of 157.52 points, following this as runner-up in the three-year-old stallions classification at the Federal Championships of German Riding Horses.

While still with Kathleen Richardson, Laura had a gentle and typey Alabaster colt, “Absolutely”, in March 2002. Laura then gave birth to an elegant refined colt by Feiner Stern in 2003, young “Finn McCool”. In March 2005, she had “Fifth Business”, a filly by Feiner Stern: beautiful, feminine type, correct and uphill conformation, exceptional movement and a sweet, gentle temperament.

Thank you to Kathleen Richardson for selling us such a lovely mare. We are very pleased.
